Some of our members have talked about hosting a ladder tournament within our Sac State club, I think this is a very good idea, however, I have hosted and managed several ladder events for sports other than badminton before, in order to keep the ladder running and active, it can be very time consuming and can get quite complicated for the ladder manager.

I have tried to find some online ladder software to help ease up the job, but there are very few available and the ones I could find are not very complete in functionality. So I have decided to create an online ladder managing system for the badminton community, I only have started working on it a few days ago, but I will first include basic functions such as helping players to find and sign up ladder tournaments in their local area, players can create challenges through the website, rankings are calculated automatically based on the scores reported by players, also users can view other player's profile and tournament history.

For ladder owners they will have full controls over the player's status in the ladder and varies ladder settings. Ladder owners will also have the options to charge a ladder entry fee which I think the revenue can help club owners to maintain their clubs.

I am hoping a system like this will help club owners and other badminton players to setup and manage ladder tournaments easily, since ladders is a good way for us to improve our game and competition levels.
